Default Making a distribution list means losing names...

In Outlook, when creating a distribution list from one's contacts, the
list places the e-mail address under both the name heading and the e-
mail heading (not the person's actual name).

When "adding" a person that gets created on the fly, to the
distribution list, and one types the first and last name, these
properly appear under the name heading?

Can anyone tell me why the firstname/lastname is not coming into the
distribution list properly?

Depends somewhat on your version, which you forgot to specify. Usually,
Outlook will use whatever you have set as the Display Name for each Contact
in the Name field. You must have set the Display Name to be the email
address. Set it to what you want to display.

I am using Outlook 2003. What are the steps to set it to something
other than the email address?

Where does one make this change?

Thank you.

Post makes no sense. Explain what you mean more clearly, please.
