Okay, this is complicated but when I click on To.. a message comes up: "The
address list could not be displayed"...etc.. and when I click OK it goes away and the "select names" dialog box appears but without any names until I go to the drop down that says "contacts" and low and behold there is another "contacts" list and when I scroll down one and choose it, it displays the names that are supposd to be available. How can i get rid of the empty one and get the other contaxt list to come up when I click To..? Thanks so much! "Denise Robbins" Denise wrote in message I tried to do that but it was already checked. Name of the address book is "contacts", maybe that's the problem. What next? I has been using Outlook 2003. I exported all my files to a file the way you are supposed to, export as .pst and then imported via our network from the saved file. I have always opened a new email and clicked on the "TO:" spot to choose who I want to send the email to. I currently can only see the names in my contacts but not in my address book like my other Outlook program. Please help. I see my contacts but want them in my address book like before. |

Don't start a new thread - simply read the response that Russ gave you in the original thread. Remove the invalid reference - Russ tells you how.

Sorry but I am going to be in real trouble if I don't get this fixed. I did
not see Russ' response and thought no one was giong to reply with any further help. I did what he suggested but still get the message: "the address list could not be displayed" all that does is get me to a message stating "select the show this folder as an email address book check box" and that is what I did in hte beginning. What else should I do? Thanks for your help. "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: Don't start a new thread - simply read the response that Russ gave you in the original thread. I did follow them exactly. When I get to the part where I click on "CHANGE"
another box pops up. He didn't say to do anything after another box pops up. It gives me the message on how to designate a contact folder as an address book which I already did! the box is checked to make it an address book allready. Please tell me how to fix this problem. I am pretty computer literate and can follow directions it's just that nothing I have been asked to do so far has fixed it.
