I imported all of my contacts directly from Access 2003. I see them fine
when using Outlook. However when using MS Fax I click on the Address Book link and it doesn't see any of my imported contacts. It does see all of my contacts that were inputted manually. I can't figure out why or if I did something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Windows XP Home |

A couple of things you need to check. First, clarify which fax program you
are using. State what program you have set as your default program for managing Contacts for your operating system. Finally, importing Contacts often fails to resolve the electronic addresses. If your fax numbers are not resolved, they will not appear in the address book until you resolve them (usually requires opening and Saving each Contact Record). -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "rlastar" wrote in message ... Thanks for responding.
I state in the title that I am using MS or Microsoft Fax. Not sure what you mean by "State what program you have set as your default program for managing Contacts for your operating system". I use Outlook 2003. I tried opening up a record and resaving it, but that did not resolve my issue. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: A couple of things you need to check. You are not using Microsoft Fax. It has not been in use since Windows 95.
Existing fax programs include Windows 2000 Personal Fax, Windows XP Fax, and Vista Fax and Scan. To examine your default Contact manager look at Control Panel Internet Options Programs... (depending on your operating system, which you have not mentioned). When you create a new Contact with a valid fax address, will it appear in your address book? If so, then you have found your problem. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "rlastar" wrote in message ... Thanks for responding. I state in the title that I am using MS or Microsoft Fax. Okay, I didn't realize it changed names. I am using Windows XP Fax as my OS
is XP Home. My default Contact manager is Microsoft Office Outlook. All of the imported contacts have the valid fax number showing in their records. Now what? Answer my other question, please.
If you create a new Contact from scratch, will it appear in in the Outlook Address Book. I still suspect you have unresolved addresses. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "rlastar" wrote in message ... I'm not really sure what you mean, but I have been trying to figure it out.
When I go into one of the records that XP Fax doesn't see, I modify it and then re-save it. Now XP Fax sees it. I have over 5,000 records so this would be very time consuming. Do you think I imported incorrectly or is this just a bug in the software? Thanks "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Answer my other question, please. It's a bug in the importing process. Imported addresses are never resolved
until you open and save the record. Why was it necessary to import these addresses? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "rlastar" wrote in message ... How else can I send a fax to a customer created in Access?
