Hi all,
When I enter a new contact, I use the Full Name and email fields. The File As and Display As fill in automatically. When I want to send a new email and start typing in the "to" field, sometimes it just suggests email addresses, and sometimes it suggests email addresses and also the Display name (+address) people. I would like it to suggest Display name options all of the time but it just seems random. Have I not configure something correctly? Thanks |

Not at all. You have failed to understand that autocompletion has nothing to
do with your Contacts Folder and the information it contains. It only uses information from the autocompletion cache, which contains information derived only from headers of the messages you have sent. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "moneypenny28" wrote in message ... ![]() Hi Russ, Thanks for the reply. So to get an autocomplete with email and Display names, I have to specifically send them an email first? And then the next time I write to them, it should show? The autocompletion cache is populated only by the messages you have sent.
The format of what appears in that cache is determined entirely by the sender if you have replied to that message. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "moneypenny28" wrote in message ... You can populate the autocompletion cache with up to 1000 of the "DIsplay As" values from your Contacts, though, so that you can begin to type that string and have it show up.
