Is there a way to send an email to a distribution list and / or multiple
addresses but have the only address visible to the recipient be just their
own? I would like to make general announcement emails appear more personal
with out having to send it multiple times.

That requires a mail merge. Mail merges cannot use DL's, but can use
multiple Contacts. Outlook uses Word for performing mail merge functions
such as Form Letters, mailing labels, envelopes, and fax or email merges.
For an overview of these functions take a look he

Click Help and look for "mail merge".
