Default automatic dens and receive

Running Win XP Pro with Outlook 2002. Before having to reformat and
reinstall everything, Outlook would automatically send and receive when I
opened the program. It also would immediately send an email as soon as I hit
the Send button. But after reinstall, It does not auto check for messages
when opening, and now even though I have hit the Send button, the message
does not send until I hit the Send/Receive button. Is there a setting that
can changes these two things? And if so where do I find them. Thanks

This has nothing to do with Contacts.
Just set an automatic polling interval the way you did before.

I didn't think it had anything to with contacts. I did not set anything
before, it had been set by someone else. Can you explain hw to do this.

I haven't seen a version that old in years. IIRC it's in Tools
Send/Receive Send/Receive Settings... Define Send/Receive Groups...
