Default Outlook 2003 contact

I have multiple contact lists (shared) and occasionally have problem copying
info from one list to another. when "save and close" the copied-to-contact,
the copied info will not save. There is no error message, it just won't save.
This happens in any of the lists with a variety of contacts - no pattern
discernable. Most often the contacts are saved correctly.

how are you doing the copying?

I just right mouse drag from one folder to the other and select Copy when I
release the mouse button.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

I am not copying the entire contact, only a piece of information from one
contact to another. say adding a telephone number to the contact in
"Michael's" files and copying that number to a contact in "Jill's" files. I
use "cut and paste" or "copy and paste" with the right click. As I said,
sometimes it takes and sometimes it doesn't. I have had a witness watch me do
it !! You can imagine the confusion this is causing in my office.

I believe you. There are many illogical and inconsistent behaviours in
Outlook - I didn't know about that one.

Try keyboard commands and see if that works for you.
