Default how do I add address books to Outlook if the function is disabled.

Here is what I have already tried:

Go properties on the contacts tab and tried to tick “Show this folder as an
Outlook address book” – but the tick box is disabled

Go Tools and then account settings, then on address books try to remove an
reinstall the address book, but the remove button is disabled

I am now out of plans – can anyone think of something else to try?

Post your Outlook version. Always.
If it is Outlook 2007, this is a well known bug. Create a new profile from
scratch.
