I'm creating DLs and when I select members by name, the DL properties show
only the email addresses, not the names. How do I get the names to show up? |

Clarify what you're doing and in what Outlook version. Clarify whether your
members reside only in the DL or in the Contacts Folder. State what you mean by "select members by name." Select them where and for what purpose? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "eileen" wrote in message ... OK. I'm using Outlook 2007. I am creating a new DL and I click "Select
Members" from the menu. I then highlight names that reside in my Contacts Folder and they appear in the list, but they appear with only the email and not the name. The column that says "Name" at the top has the emails, just the same as the column headed "Emails." "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Clarify what you're doing and in what Outlook version. Yes, I agree that it should. Nevertheless, it doesn't.

Have you examined the Display As fields for these Contacts?

I just did check that and the email is in the Display As fields for everyone
in my Contacts. So if I change that it appears that my problem would be solved. Is there a command somewhere that will make that change in my whole Contact file or do I have to change it manually in all 945 contacts? ![]() "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Have you examined the Display As fields for these Contacts? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "eileen" wrote in message ... There is no way to make that change globally. What's odd is that Outlook
includes the name in the Display As field automatically when you create a Contact. How did you create these Contacts? Were they imported? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "eileen" wrote in message ... Sorry to hear I can't change globally. The Contacts were imported as a .csv
file. They had been in Outlook Express on my previous computer. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: There is no way to make that change globally. Ah. That explains it. You can check in a programming group to see if anyone
has written code to do this task or there might be third party software that can do it. Unfortunately it's not a frequent request because the field is of little consequence for most users. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "eileen" wrote in message ...
