When I click the new contact button and the window opens there should be
three tabs labeled "Contact", "Insert" and "Format Text". Mine however, does
not show the "Insert" tab and I can't figure out how to get it to come up.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm using Windows XP Professional and Office
Professional 2007.

I have one and so should both of you. It's the Tab with Insert Item,
Attachment, Signature etc on it. Quite an important one!

I have an insert tab for calendar and email but not for contacts. Do you
really have an insert tab for contacts - why would you insert an attachment
or signature?

After going through five different books at Barnes and Noble on Outlook each
showed an example with the three tabs. At least I know I'm not the only one.
I'm still interested in a fix or a reason why we are different, if anyone
knows.

I would insert an attachment for many reasons. Here are a few examples:

I send this client a quote for training and attach a hyperlink to the Quote
on the shared drive of the server.
I have a staff member as a Contact and hyperlink thier job description in.

After thinking about it, I agree it has some uses that would be nice. That
being said, how do I get the insert tab to be added to my contacts. When I
installed, I never had any problems or error messages (upgraded from 2003).
Would appreciate any hints. I guess I am also wondering if I am missing any
other tabs in other areas.

Okay, I uninstalled office and then reinstalled. I still do not have an
insert tab when I open up an Outlook 2007 contact. Does anyone have a
suggestion on how I can get the insert tab.

For anyone who has the problem with the insert tab not showing up for
contacts, I thought I might advise you of what has happened to me.

I called Microsoft and it took them about 1.5 hours to "fix" the problem.
What they finally had me do was to delete the addins folder in the registry.
Once they did that, I had the insert tab but Business Contact Manager
disappeared. After several hours on the phone with Microsoft and several
more hours on my own, I still do not have BCM. I have done a repair,
add/remove and a complete uninstall and reinstall and not any closer to a
resolution. The bottom line is terrible Microsoft support and not ownership
by Microsoft for resolving the problem even though they caused it.

I feel better having vented my frustration and don't really expect any help
but if someone has an idea, I am all ears.
