I am having a problem with my contact categories. From time to time when I
double click on a category, all of the contacts within that category are automatically highlighted. If any contact within that category has been assigned two categories, the system unassigns the contact from the other category. Any idea what is happening? |

Outlook does not do this. Only the end user does. So state more clearly what
you are doing and in what view. We can't watch you. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Lois B" Lois wrote in message ... I am having a problem with my contact categories. While in Outlook Contacts, the current view is "Phone List". "Arranged by"
is Custom and set to be collapsed until I double click on the category. Sometimes when I double click on the category bar to view the contacts, all of the contacts become selected (this happens automatically) and then any contact with more than one designated category loses one of the categories. Normally one clicks on the + sign to expand a collapsed list. Might be worth
a try. There's still no way for us to figure out what else is happening. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Lois B" wrote in message ... While in Outlook Contacts, the current view is "Phone List". Thank you so much for that tip. I will click the plus sign in the future. I
was able to re-create the problem. I have been dragging down a bit on the second "click" which highlights the entire list and then kicks out one of the categories. Aha. That makes sense. That little drag will kick the whole lot into another
category. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Lois B" wrote in message ... Thank you so much for that tip. I will click the plus sign in the future. I was able to re-create the problem.
