Kathy,
Yes, it's a real problem. I finally got it done but I don't know how I did it so, unfortunately I can't help. You will get typical answers like what Gordon sent. Maybe he knows what that means, but I don't. Good luck getting an answer that says 1st do this, 2nd do this, etc., i.e. rote instructions that work. This is one of the most obtuse, user-unfriendly things I've tried in 10 years of computing. The people who know the answer seem to be hiding it with unhelpful, non-detailed responses. I don't know why. Good luck. C "Kathy.DD" wrote in message ... I'd like to import my contacts from Excel and created a file with about 1000 contacts. Outlook just imports the first contact. This sheet I used for my new contacts. I tried to import this file into Outlook but just the first contact was taken over. |

Sorry, but I don't know the meaning of Range in German... The Excel help of
my German Office 2007 is not really helpful. |

From the Excel 2007 Help topic "Use Names to Clarify Formulas," topic ID HV10147120 (I don't know if the IDs are the same in German as in English, but you can do a quick search in Help to find out), here's how to add a name to a range of selected cells:
1. Select the cell, range of cells, or nonadjacent selections that you want to name. 2. Click the Name box at the left end of the formula bar. 3. Type the name you want to use to refer to your selection. Names can be up to 255 characters in length. 4. Press Enter. Save the worksheet as an .xls file to import into Outlook. Or, skip naming the range and save the worksheet as a comma-delimited text (.csv) file, then use that file for the import. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook 2007 Programming: Jumpstart for Power Users and Administrators http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?id=54 "Kathy.DD" wrote in message ... Kathy, just for future reference, you can find German-language Office
newsgroups by pointing your browser to http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.aspx and navigating under the "German" header in the left-hand pane. -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "Kathy.DD" wrote: Sorry, but I don't know the meaning of Range in German...
