When you make the destination folder, a window appears where you write the
name of the new folder - this is where you also set Folder Contains... properties. Make a Contacts folder. I hope this helps you at least a little bit! thanks much Mike and Judy. that helps. I should clarify. I want to COPY not
move the items of a certain category to a new folder. The only way I have found to do this is Move the selected category to a new folder create another new folder C0PY the selected items of the 1st new folder to the 2nd new folder MOVE the items of the first folder back to the Origional Contacts folder. I now have my desired result. The origional Contacts folder with all categories present, and a seperate new folder with only the items of the category I want. You would think outlook would let you COPY a category without moving it out. Am I missing something here or is that the only way? Thanks so much. -- Bob Levin "Judy Gleeson (MVP Outlook)" wrote: When you make the destination folder, a window appears where you write the name of the new folder - this is where you also set Folder Contains... properties. What you're missing is the power of the right mouse button. Left dragging
will move, right dragging allows for copying (when you release the mouse button you will be given choices). I hope this helps you at least a little bit! Brian. Thanks, however, I dont have the option of "copy to folder" My only
option is "move to folder". I tried two ways. Selecting the items in the category. Right click in the selected items area and use the contextual menu which only has the option "move to folder" or click the edit button in which case, again, the "move to folder" option appears. No such option as "copy to folder. BTW I'm using outlook 2002, Office xp,. Thanks much -- Bob Levin "Brian Tillman" wrote: Bob Levin wrote: I should clarify.
