HI,
I've successfully moved the pst file to a new computer, and all the contacts are in the contacts folder, but all my address book folders are gone. Do I have to recreate all those folders by hand? I've looked for the answer in your online helps, but can't find it. |

Posted here every day. All you need to do is configure your Outlook Address
Book. http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "BradfordWL" wrote in message ... Thanks Russ for the response. I have the old contact list in the new address
book. The problem is that I want the old folders that took years to develop. How can I get those folders? Brad "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Posted here every day. You'll have to tell us. Since the address book view contains no data, you
did not (and cannot) create your folders there. You can only create folders in a pst file which you claim to have transferred correctly. Did you? If you did, just enable the folders to display in the address book view using the directions I posted. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "BradfordWL" wrote in message ... Thanks Russ for the response. Hi Russ,
The address book does contain all my addresses, and I now see what must be the old folders represented by icons with two faces. Unfortunately all those folders are empty. They have the right titles, but no addresses inside. I have followed the instructions in the link you sent me to the best of my ability. Should the actual addresses be inside all those sub-folders? Also, is there any way to see the old folder structure in a bar to the left of the opened address book? Thanks for your help! Brad "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: You'll have to tell us. No. Your address book contains no data. It is only a view of the contacts
that exist in your Contacts Folder. If your address book view contains outdated references to Contact folders that no longer exist, then remove those references he Tools E-mail accounts View or change existing directories or address books Outlook Address Book Change. Your folder hierarchy can only be modified in Folder view of Outlook. You cannot configure anything within the address book view. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "BradfordWL" wrote in message ...
