Default How do I solve the sync problem in Outlook Contacts w/new iphone?

I've tried everything I can find to make my new iphone sync with my outlook
contacts; however, everytime I sync it is interrupted and states "microsoft
outlook contacts has experienced a problem and has to close". My music syncs
fine, but no contacts or calendar. I don't care about the calendar any more
but the contact file is essential!
