How to delete searched contacts (white box)

I am not able to delete the "history" of my searched contacts? Can someone
please advise how I could do this? If I searched for contact information in
the little white box, all my previous searches are there also. I want those
previous searches to be deleted!

It is not possible as far as I know. Why do you need to clear them? They
do nothing at all. They just sit there behind the scenes.

What version do you have? (it behaves a little differently in some
versions)
