Somehow I've ended up with multiple contact lists when I click on the address
book icon. They are not all the same. I would like to make one list without duplicates obviously. HELP! |

Do you know where the multiple contact folders are? If so, right click on
the one(s) you don't want, choose Properties, go to the Outlook Address Book tab, uncheck the box "horselover" wrote in message news ![]() Somehow I've ended up with multiple contact lists when I click on the address book icon. I also have the same issue, with two 'contacts' lists in the outlook (2003)
address book. yes I could easily remove one contact list, and all the contacts in it. One list has SMTP (email contacts) and the other list has FAX and SMTP contact details for people. The problem is each list has different people - How I wish I knew that as well. My problem is the same as Horselover, I'd like to merge these two contact lists somehow, eg excel or something, any ideas suggestions appreciated. Outlook keeps its contacts in Contacts folders. The Outlook Address Book is a service that shows you the electronic addresses (i.e., email and fax) of the contacts in those folders. It is not a separate data store and you don't manipulate anything using the address book interface. If you see two folders named "Contacts" in the "Show names from the" drop-down in the address book interface and they both show you lists of addresses that are distinct, then you must have two folders holding contacts in your folder list(s). If you click the "Contacts" button at the bottom of the Navigation Pane (the panel on the left), you should see all contacts folders in the Nav Pane. RIght-click each and choose Properties. Examine the field labeled "Location". What do you see? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
