Default Viewing outlook contacts

I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Office 2003 (including Outlook).
When I attempt to open either my calendar or contacts I have to right click
on the icon at the bottom and then select "Open in New Window". I can't go
directly into either by selecting the calendar or contact icon. Any
suggestions - thanks in advance
Geoff
