I can no longer at to Contacts: "not implemented"
There is no rest of the story, Russ. At least, not that I'm aware of. Peculiarly, it will save edits, but cannot save any new contacts. I do not add contacts often, so if I did something, it may have been a while back. In any event, I an unable to recall it. Thanks for trying to help me.
