I had to create a New Profile on a machine for one of my users.
I was able to add the data file for her personal folders, that's fine. I get her personal address book. But it looks like she's lost her Distribution list from the "Show Names From" pull-down menu at the upper-right corner of the screen when she tries to select the address book source. She can see her personal address book, and the global address book, et al., but her distribution list address book doesn't appear. How, (if it can be done), do I find and import(?) the distribution list file? And then, how do I import it? Thanks in advance -- You want it When?? |

Outlook has not used a PAB for at least a decade. It is unlikely your user
was. State more clearly what you did when you "added" the data file. That could mean anything. State how you configured the Outlook Address Book in this new profile. State what a "distribution list address book" is. State the Outlook version and default information store. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ArtGle" wrote in message ... oops, silly me.
Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003, "Added Data File" referred to Personal Folders. Account info stored on Profile share on Data Server (H:\ = username$). Outlook ost files etc., locally in default locations by Outlook at user configuration. Distribution list; grouping of e-mail addresses for sending "group messages" with one click. Previously, when she would click on "Show Names From" menu, it would list the Contacts, Global Address Book, other default selections, and "Distribution Lists". Now, everything is there "Except" Distribution Lists". Thanks. -- You want it When?? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Outlook has not used a PAB for at least a decade. She needs to reenable it again. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
