Our search facility in Outlook 2007 is always reporting that there are
unindexed items. The number of unindexed items remains around 4,400. We suspect it is on account of an Outlook .PST file that we routinely copy and bring from our office in order to have access to our contacts and archived messages at home. We suspect this because any search of the office .PST database at home results in the warning that all items have not been indexed. Is there any way to manually start or force an indexing operation for this specific Outlook .PST file immediately after it is copied to our home computer? Hopefully, this would provide us with a properly updated index upon performing any searches on this database at home. Thank you for any help. |

AFAIK; you cannot force the Indexer. Connecting to it, and leaving the
computer idle while getting a coffee should get the Indexer started pretty quick and depending on the pst-file size, get everything indexed. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Blue Max" wrote in message ...
