I have my c drive backed up on a portable hard disk. I had to reinstall
outlook on my computer. How do I restore my address book and emails from the portable drive? I have looked for a .pst file and a .pab file on the portable drive and cannot find it. Thanks. |

I displayed the hidden files and the .pst file still does not show up. If I
did not have it displayed when I did the backup, would it have saved the .pst file? I thought if I did a full back up of everything on my C drive, it would save everything. FileData File Management or Control PanelMailData Files. If I did not have it displayed when I did the backup, would it have saved the .pst file? I thought if I did a full back up of everything on my C drive, it would save everything. Depends entirely on the backup software and how it is configured to operate. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

You would not have been using a PAB file. The file you need is your Personal
Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored. Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jpurcell" wrote in message ...
