I'm getting ready to install Office 2007 on a Windows XP computer. I've
already done it on a Windows Vista computer, and was able to save all of the emails from the earlier version of Outlook, but none of the contact names and addresses. Is there a way to move those from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007? |

Where are the names and addresses stored. If they are stored in the Personal
Address Book then you should import them into the Contacts folder of Outlook before moving them (using File, Import and Export). The Contacts folder is the new Address Book (since Outlook 2000) so you should use this. "MaryBordo" wrote in message ... I'm getting ready to install Office 2007 on a Windows XP computer. Actually, Outlook stopped using a PAB after Outlook 97 (which still used
Contacts but required a PAB for Distribution Lists). It only retained backwards compatibility with PAB's for the next decade, and now has finally dropped even that. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Gordon" wrote in message ... Then you did not transfer the correct data file or do so correctly. This
information is provided here daily. The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored. Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "MaryBordo" wrote in message ...
