I have a user that can not add/remove contacts from a personal DL.
Outlook 2003 Win ZP Exchange Server When she opens it up and tries to delete or add, it appears to work. Save, exit, go back in and it has not updated. I was able to repeat the problem. I've done a office repair, which didn't help. I created a new DL from scratch for her and imported it into her contacts. All was fine until she tried to change it, which was a month or so later. Same problem again. I"ve searched the web and this site and haven't found anything. Has anyone seen this problem before? Thank you for your help. Judy21 |

Why would you import a DL? That always destroys it.

I guess that I don't understand or I'm putting it the wrong way. I've copied
Distribution Lists for different staff for years without any problems. This is not an Exchange DL, it is a personal local one. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Why would you import a DL? You'll need to be more precise. DL's only work when they are in the same
folder in which they were created. Anything else is a setup for corruption of the DL, which you seem to be demonstrating for us once again. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jmitchel" wrote in message ... Ok
Staff member A, created a DL in her default contact folder, naming it XYZ, She added a list of staff from both our Global listing, her contacts and others that she had to create from scratch. She used this DL for months before she needed to remove or add contacts. We opened the XYZ DL, "select members" from the global, then clicked "update now", Save and close. Exit Outlook, open again, went back in, the new members were not there. It also works the same way on deleting. Appears to work, there are no errors, the changes just are not saved. It does not matter if we try to delete/add one contact at a time or several. Additional note: We recreated her DL in her default contact folder, under a new name and still have the same problem. The list that I created was all done by me in my default contact folder, then copied to her default folder. Nothing changed, she could still use them, but not edit them... This is not a large Dl listing. Maybe 30 -50. ------------------------------------------- "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: You'll need to be more precise. Seems to me this DL contains none of the criteria I listed for one that
would work very long without becoming corrupted. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jmitchel" wrote in message ... After clicking Select Members, select the members from the various address lists, click the Members button, click OK, then Save and Close. You don't need the "Update Now" button. More often than not, "Update Now" will change something you don't want changed. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
