Default private details in contact

I have been asked to find out if there is a solution to this problem. My boss
wants to syne his palm with outlook but wants to make all the phone numbers
in his contacts private incase he loses his palm device. Is there a way for
him to do this.

Any help much appriciated

You can mark Outlook contacts as private, but not individual fields.

Sorry for being an outlook newbie,when he marks it as private,how does that
work.I mean,will it ask for a password when he syncs outlook with his palm.
Apparently that would happen when he used his palm application,but now he
wants the same from outlook and i dont know too much about that side of
outlook

Not an Outlook question, I'm afraid. How various sync software handles the
"private" setting is solely within their purview, not Outlook's.

no. he needs to use a strong password on the palm to protect the data in
case of loss.

Then he should use the security settings in the Palm to prevent unauthorized
access in the event it gets lost or stolen.
