I have tried but can't see how I can download the IM address.

As mention in my response to importing the IM Address field:

The IM Address field is not included as part of the Outlook standard fields
available for either import or export (IM Address did not become a standard
field until Outlook 'XP (2002)) - or in other words - the fields that are
available are based on the lowest common denominator - Outlook '2000.

The CG import/export products do include this field for the appropriate
Outlook versions so you may find this of interest:

An alternative to exporting is creating a custom view to include the fields
you want and then doing a "copy 'n paste" into Excel. This typically works
well and without issues if your contact folder does not include 000's of
contacts.
