In Outlook 2007
I would like to create a new Distribution List with about 60 contacts. These contacts are not part of my contacts list. I copied all these contacts from the "To:" and "CC:" line i would like to paste all these new e-mail address into a distribution list. Outlook seems to require me to save each contact, then select them from the contacts list. Is there any other way to create a distribution list faster? -Erick |

It is unlikely that it will work because the contact attribute containing the mail address is not copied to the clipboard, only the display name. If all the data you wish to copy contains only mail addresses or contains DIsplay As data containing the mail addresses, you should be able to past into the Members field in the Select Member dialogue and with a little judicious editing get what you want, but if those fields contain Display As data that does not contain addresses, you're out of luck. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

There are third-party tools that can scan a folder's messages and make contacts out of the addresses in the recipient fields.
