I have a shared contact list in outlook 2000 which I share with many other
people using the permission tab. My problem is when I update the list it does not update in my contact list nor in their contact list, how can I update everybody at one time? Thank you in advance for your response. |

If the folks you have set up to "share" with, are simply viewing your
contact list then I would say you should not have to do anything more. It sounds like the information is not "synchronizing" out in a timely fashion. Perhaps a cached mode issue. If you wait long enough, or if someone (yourself included) logs out of Outlook and then logs back in, do the contacts show up? Nikki Peterson "cdcfcuexc" wrote in message ... ![]() Thank you for your response - but no it did not work for them to simply just logout and log back in. The permissions have been granted under the permissions tab but the user states that the others are still not updating. These are not net folders that they are working just regular contact list - does that make a difference? Yes, we do have an exchange server. I was told though we will be updated to
office 2007 will this fix the problem or should we do something now before the change to make sure they will be updating correctly? "Nikki Peterson" wrote: Do you use Exchange Server? So, when you say shared, you mean that you have:
- Created a new "Contact" type folder in Outlook - Right-Clicked the folder and set permissions using the properties on the folder. Is this correct? How do the others see/view the shared contacts? Do they use the File, Open...? or ...? Nikki "cdcfcuexc" wrote in message ... Yes, we do have an exchange server. Thank you so much for your time on this..
The contact folder that was shared from the original person was actually copied and pasted to the person who had permission to view/see it. example - marilyn has the original contact folder, she has a shortcut to mike's contact folder and the shared contact folder in her outlook which he can view from his desktop. If Marilyn makes a change to the original shared contact folder how can the update be changed on all the shared contact folders' at one time? Hope this makes sense! I am a tad confused, but let me think on it a bit.
Can you take a look at the following link(s) and let me know if one of these methods is the one you are using? http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share_old.asp or http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.asp Nikki "cdcfcuexc" wrote in message ...
