I am using Outlook 2007. Have placed yahoo.com in my Safe Senders list, since
I am not getting mail from folks with yahoo.com e-mail addresses. Still not getting from them, even tho they are in my Outlook Contacts list and Hotmail is set to accept mail from everyone in Contacts. Suggestions? |

When they reply they get no sort of error report, so are not aware that their messages didn't go thru. I have added these names indivudually into my Safe Senders list and I have also added @yahoo.com into it. Don't know what else to try. (Also, their replies do not show up in my Junk Mail account.) |

Do the messages appear in your mailbox before Outlook tries to download them; i.e., can you use a web interface to examine the mailbox on the server to see if they are there but Outlook isn't downloading them? If they're not on the server, clearly it either that the sender address you're using is invalid (and they'd get a bounce) or the problem is on their end or on a mail router between you and them. In the first case, fix the mail address. In the other cases, it's not Outlook's problem. Did you check to see if your mail server has a filter that is discarding or refiling the messages before Outlook gets a chance to see them? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Is this what you mean by using a web interface? I know that the sender addresses are good...I have sent to seven people with yahoo.com email addresses. All have gotten my messages with no problems. All have replied or created new emails to my Hotmail account. None of their emails have gotten through. None have gotten rejection notices from Hotmail. Some of these people live in different states. So I guess that leaves a mail router close to home. My highspeed internet connection is thru Comcast. Could it be a problem with their server? I find it difficult that MSFT owns Hotmail (correct?) but offers no direct support. I appreciate your suggestions, but I don't yet see a solution. |

Did you examine your Junk folder on Hotmail? Clearly if the messages are not arriving in the Hotmail Inbox, the problem lies in the routing to you and you can't affect that. Unless they're sending to a @comcast.net address, it's not Comcast causing the problem. I find it difficult that MSFT owns Hotmail (correct?) but offers no direct support. If you pay for an MSN account, then MSN will support it. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

If so, how do I find someplace to contact MSFT? Thanks. |
