Why can't you just open the PST file in which they reside and copy them?

I'm not being sarcastic, Russ, I'm just being honest.
I can't do it because I don't know how. :-) Nevertheless, I did succeed in accomplishing a selective copy, but cancelled it when I thought it was taking too long and I thought it was going after the entire contacts list. Unfortunately, I did not write down the steps I took, and now that I'm willing to try again, I can't remember what I did. Here's what I've got so far: 1) Know ahead of time which OL data file goes with which profile. (Control Panel | Mail | Profiles | ... no problem here) 2) Open OL for the receiving profile. (Do I select Contacts at this point?) 3) Click File | Open | Outlook data file. 4) Double-click the .pst file for the sending profile. The first time I got this far I was able to open the sending contacts and select the entries to copy. and I managed to get to an option that would let me copy selected items to the Contacts folder, but now ... I'm Alzheimer's material. Please help me get to the finish line. Thanks. Bud "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Once you select the Contacts you want to copy, Use Edit Copy to Folder...
That will open a dialog box that will let you set your other PST file's Contact Folder as the target. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "BudV" wrote in message ... Sorry, I wasn't specific enough. The Alzheimer's crack meant that I didn't
remember what to do after step 4. I just got a blank window that didn't display the contact entries (from which I was supposed to select the ones I wanted to copy. (And thanks for the fast response. You work weekends, too, eh?) "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Once you select the Contacts you want to copy, Use Edit Copy to Folder... You've lost me. Be more specific. Had you followed the directions I posted,
you should have 2 PST files open in your profile. You simply select the Contacts in the Contacts folder from one PST file and copy them to the Contacts Folder of the other using the steps I posted. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "BudV" wrote in message ...
