In 2007 Outlook, is there any way of telling from a Contact record what
Distribution Lists that contact is on?

No. Nor in any other version of Outlook.

Hi,
I don't think so, that's why the Distribution List Manager add-in exists, it's one of the features in that add-in. It also offers to remove that contact from the distribution lists it belongs to when you delete the contact to keep your lists tidy.
