Default what is the symbol in my contacts icons?

there is a symbol in the contact icon for only a few of my contacts. It
looks like a tiny clock, but it's so small I can't tell. It only shows up on
a few of my contacts and I can't tell any difference between them and the
"normal" icon contacts.

I think that means the Journal is turned on for those Contacts. Check the
Journal settings. Tools, Options Journal.

PLEASE post at least your version when you have a question.

I am using Outlook 2003. You are exactly correct, it is the Journal that
somehow got turned on for these contacts. Thank you.
