I want to use the same contacts on two laptops. "A" is the primary laptop
and "B" is the secondary. I want to get the contacts from A to B. The primarily solution I need is to simply "copy" the contacts from A to B from time to time. Ideally I'd like to have synchonization, that is, if changes are made in B contacts, have a way to get them to A, but that is a nice to have, not mandatory. I read on the discussion group that export/import is not workable. What method would I use to accomplish my objective? Thanks. |

I followed the Microsoft instructions for sharing Contacts (plus Calendar &
Tasks if desired.) Created a copy, copied it to the B laptop. Then configured B to point to the copy as the Contacts file. Everything looks OK, however, Distributions groups cannot find the contacts within. It appears like a pointer is lost. Any ideas? "Herb" wrote: I want to use the same contacts on two laptops. Where do I find this new file on the network so I can copy it for the other laptop? Folders in Outlook are not file system objects. If you created a folder called "Shared Folders" in Outlook, it's likely that it is in eactly the same file as all your other folders. Please be precise in describing how you created the "Shared Folders" so that I can determine what you did and advise you on how to proceed. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

That's likely true. DLs reference contacts from their original location. DLs are quite fragile and many of us simply don't use them any more. Instead we use categories or separate contacts folders. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
