Default unable to edit contacts

I have been trying to change the email address in a few of my contacts. when
I change the addy and then save it revert back to the old address. My
contacts list had to be revived from an old hard drive. I was wondering if
the file I imported might have been tagged read only because I pulled it off
of a cd the tech put it on when he retrieved the info from the old hard
drive?
Does anyone have any ideas why contact revert to the old info after I change
info and save? Can anyone help?

Thanks
jj
