How can I edit contact information across groups in Outlook?

We created a new contact group to be a subset of the main. (Some people will
be in both groups.) If I edit a contact's information in the main group, why
doesn't it update the info for that contact in the "sub-group"? How can I
set this up?

Since you are using your own terms, you will need to define them for us. We
have no idea what a contact group is nor does Outlook use any such term.
