Perhaps you can help with my problem, related to this. My Outlook Address
Book has no entries. In the same dialog box you refer to it says I need to designate my Contacts as an Outlook Address Book in Properties. But that check is grayed out as unavailable. It seems I can't apply the Address Book sorting rules until I can get my Contacts designated as an Outlook Address Book, and it won't let me do that. Thanks for any help. ... It is Outlook 2007. Thanks. Did you migrate data from another Outlook instance? What you see is indicative of that. Unfortunately, Outlook 2007's mail profile handler contains a bug that makes it impossible to repair the Outlook Address Book service in a mail profile. The only way to fix it is to create a new mail profile and add your existing Outlook data file correctly to that new profile. See if this helps: http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/newprofile.htm -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
