Upgrade installations are not recommended with Outlook. You must install
clean, then migrate your data correctly. Provide precise details on how you attempted this "upgrade" and provide accurate version information. There is no Outlook 200. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "wiseacre" wrote in message ... I just upgraded from office 200 to 2007, all my contacs in outlook disappeared. can i recover them? |

The upgrade was done by installing the newr version, I saw that it was going
to delete the old version but i assumed that the data would still be intact. the old version was office 2000, the new is office for small buisiness 2007 not sure of the version number. Then your data would be perfectly intact.
Your installation is not, of course, since you cannot do an inplace upgrade, especially one that skips multiple versions. Did you back up your data before you tried this? Make sure you know where your Outlook data file is and back it up. Then create a new Outlook profile from scratch and connect it properly to your data file. You will also need to decide if you want to use your old data file or update to the newer file format that Outlook 2003 and 2007 use. Instructions for all of this are posted here daily. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "wiseacre" wrote in message ... The installation of Outlook 2007 creates a new (usually broken) mail profile and new, empty PST. Use the Mail applet in Control Panel to create a new mail profile and connect it to the original PST. See this: http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm .. Define your accounts in the Mail applet as well (also described on the cited web page). At your leisure, convert your original PST to the new Unicode format so you never run into size limitations. See this: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ansi-to-unicode.asp . -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
