Default In 2003, how do I send an email as a BCC to a category?

I am under the impression that I can send an email to a category without
creating a distribution list. However, I do not want recipients to be able to
see the other recipients' names in the To: line. I tried to send the email by
moving the "list" from the To: line to the Bcc: line and received an error.
How can I send this email?

If I need to create a distribution list, how can I do this wihtout picking
and choosing all 247 names?

Thanks in Advance!

Using New Message to Contact after selecting a category and then selecting
te entire To field and dragging it to Bcc always works for me.

A DL with 247 recipients is just nuts. It would never work, nor would most
mail providers allow you to send to that many recipients.
If you are convinced that yours does, you'll have to copy and paste the
recipients to the BCC field before you send the message.
