Default Default contacts list

I am running outlook 2003 on an XP Pro workstation connected to a Windows
Server 2003 Small Business Edition with Exchange 200? (I think its 2002?)

When creating a new e-mail and selecting [TO] I get the default
"Global address list" in the "Show names from the:" window.
Is the any way of having this option default to "Contacts" As I want to see
my address book straight away instead of all our internal recipients.

Any Help Appreciated.

You shouldn't. Options for configuring the Outlook Address are among the
most carefully hidden of any Outlook feature. Just look at the number of
questions it produces.
I really think Microsoft just wants us to stop using the Outlook Address
Book. They sure create that incentive in the way they design Outlook.
