I have two sets of contacts under "my contacts" tab. One is labeled
"contacts" the other "contacts in personal folders". I don't know how I did this, but I just want one contact list. Can I combine them? Thanks, Scot |

Seems that your first job is to figure out where these two folders are, why
you have two, and which one you want to be your default. Once you do that, just copy the Contacts from the one that is not your default into the one that is. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ibgolfn" wrote in message ... Thanks. I think the reason this happened is because I got a new computer and
one set of contacts are from the old computers contacts file. Where would the default folder typically be if I only had one? Maybe this will help me find the other one too. Then it would be useful to know how you migrated your data to the new
installation. Something was done incorrectly. I would assume you do not want two sets of Personal Folders in this profile. Use Folder List view to get a full view of your Folder hierarchy. The root set of folders will be your current default. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ibgolfn" wrote in message ... Thanks. You probably think I am dumber than a retarded monkey.... I did this project
during chemotherapy treatments and was heavily drugged. I can't remember what I did. You are right, I don't want to have two. I am using vista. When I open my folder within the users file, there is an icon labeled contacts. When I open it and dbl click the the WAB file it tell me it is importing files. I assume that if I can find the old one and do the same, it should importand therefor combine them, right? I have not been able to find it even if I search for it. It seems the new one is the root, the old one I cannot find. Hopefully, Scot "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Then it would be useful to know how you migrated your data to the new installation. Stop. Folder List view is a view in Outlook, not Windows Explorer. It is the
only view in which you can see your entire folder hierarchy in your Outlook data file. You can never view or manipulate Outlook data from Windows Explorer. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ibgolfn" wrote in message ... You probably think I am dumber than a retarded monkey....
