I am trying to add the color of each category to the name when shown in the
contacts section so it is easier to find what I am looking for (i.e. medical, businesses, etc) Can it be done? If so how? |

Hey Barbi:
Yes you can add more categories and make them almost any color you want. I do this all the time, you don't have to stick with the categories they give you; you can rename them and add new ones. -- Director of Marketing "BermudaBarbi" wrote: "Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "BermudaBarbi" wrote in message ... I know that I can change the categories and colors. What I want to do is have
the color of the category that I applied to an address show on the name area when it is in the display mode (address book, business card, phonelist, etc). It wo uld make it much easier if I am looking for medical, financial, store, whatever to see the color I tagged them rather than have them all blue. Is that possible? if so how? if not why not? You can certainly view your Contacts with a By Category view, but it won't color the File As fields. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

You'd need to use autoformatting rules for the categories. This won't work
in all views. You can also change the color of the background to the category color - this is more time consuming than automatic formatting rules in views though. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "BermudaBarbi" wrote in message ...
