Default E-mailing a category of contacts

Is there a way to e-mail a category of my contacts (or several for that
matter) while in the e-mail section of Outlook 2007? I figured out how to
choose categories from the Contact section and then choose to e-mail them,
but can this be done the other way around? All of my contacts appear when I
start an e-mail, but they are not categorized, nor can I choose which
categories I want to e-mail from there.

Thanks,
TM
