![]() Running Outlook 2007 SP2. I need to create a distribution list. When I go to create a distribution list and click SELECT MEMBERS I see the list of all my contacts, but I only need to select about 500 out of the 6000 contacts. I only want to select the ones that have a certain Industry field and University field. I cannot seem to find an option to sort contacts while selecting members for the distribution list? Any ideas? -- dapopa9 http://forums.slipstick.com |

Yes. Don't use a D/L for that sort of number. Use Categories instead. Much easier to administer. |

![]() Well I'm not sure how Categories would help me send emails to those hundreds of people? Can you explain? Also, all the information is already entered for those hundreds of contacts....would I have to re-enter all of that information from the fields into categories? thanks for your help! Yes - view Contacts by Category, highlight the Category and do Actions-Create-Message to Contact or Tools-Mail Merge Also, all the information is already entered for those hundreds of contacts....would I have to re-enter all of that information from the fields into categories? No. All Categories does is to add a "sorting" index to each Contact. And you can add a Category to all your 500 contacts at once - select all the contacts, right-click and choose Categorize...
