Default Add Children to Contact

I would like to be able to add the names of children to contact names and to
be able to view them on the Details page of the contact (e.g. under Spouse).
I am able to add the children in the All Fields view, but they are hidden in
a normal view of the contact (e.g. double clicking on the contact). Is there
a way to have the children field show up when looking at the normal view of
the Detail page?

Only if you want to create a custom form. Most people just create a view
that includes that field or click on the All Fields view.

They can appear in an Explorer view,
add the children field to your explorer view, such as Address Cards.
