Default distribution list

Hello. I am trying to set up a master distribution list for my work and was
wondering what the maximum number of addresses it will hold. We have about
3000 or so to set up and before i set out on that adventure of entering them,
I wanted to make sure it would hold all of them. I have looked into "blast
companies" but it is pretty expensive. Any information, suggestions or input
will be greatly appreciated.
