I created a custom version of the Task form to expose some user-defined
fields and made that my default Task form. I followed the process suggested in response my earlier post entitled, "Adding User Defined Field to Task Form" of May 2nd. The custom form works fine in Outlook but has caused some problems with some related applications. I've found another way to accomplish what the custom form accomplished for me. So.... I want to go back to the standard Task form. Here's what I tried: 1) right-clicked on the Task folder, chose Properties 2) selected the standard form from the When posting to this folder list 3) followed the instructions in the FormsAdmin readme to restore a message class to using a standard form When I try to create a new task I get an Outlook error message saying, "The object could not be found." Fortunately I was able to get back to the custom form. I still want to get back to the standard Task form. Any idea what steps I'm missing? Thanks, Gordon |

With Outlook 2003, you need to remember to change the version number to 11 and clear the entries out of the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\O utlook\Custom Forms If this doesn't help, try clearing the Outlook forms cache. Sometimes it gets corrupted. In Outlook, click Tools menu - Options - Other tab - Advanced Options button - Custom Forms button - Manage Forms button. You should now be at the "Forms Manager" dialog. Click the Clear Cache button. Close or OK all the open dialogs. |
