We created two templates (*.oft) as task request and placed them on our
internal website. Both templates are setup with a default email address and the send function so all the user has to do is fill in the information and click the "Send" button. One of the templates work perfect through the organization. The other template open as a task, but the To: function and the "Send" button does not appear on some systems in the organization and other systems it appear fine (as designed). The one that do not work appear comes up with "Assign Task" button on the tool bar where the ones that work comes come up with "cancel assignment". I can not see any reason why these come up different. Is there a setting in Outlook that I am missing? Thanks, -- Steve Montgomery Girl Scouts - Seattle WA |

Code does not run when you open an OFT. You probably would not have any problems if you published both to the Exchange Organizational Forms Library, as they should be. Do you have troglodytes for management that will not permit this? -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

I don't have any special code behind the button. Any code associated with
the button is the standard MS code associated with the send function. Also, as I pointed out one of the forms work fine and the other is imtermittment. I am confused by the operations as it would seem like both forms would act the same on everyones machines. -- Steve Montgomery Girl Scouts - Seattle WA "Hollis Paul [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: In article , =?Utf-8?B?U3RldmVNIC0gR1NUQw==?= wrote: I can not see any reason why these come up different. You surely do not believe that all the machines are exactly alike. Do you control what add-ins each user may have installed? What phishing messages they may have responded to? Or what keystroke watchers they may have picked up? Even if you did not publish them to the Org Forms Library, you could have problems with individual computers due to strange things that have been installed. However, you are less likely to have such problems. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

I clearly understand that all machines are not the same. But, I would seem
if Microsoft had their act together that two OFTs of similar structure would work the same good or bad way on the same machine. Or may be this is too much to ask of Microsoft products. And yet, Microsoft has made a large number of them customizable by the user. I can tell you that none of my engineering code, that I wrote in aerospace, was customizable at runtime. Back to the question at hand; you seem determined to avoid investigating the solution of publishing them to the Organizational Forms Library. We are talking about a business system that uses an Exchange server, aren't we? And, if so, you do know how to use it? -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

Hollis Paul,
It's not that I am apposed to publishing it in the forms library, but this would mean retraining a 100 plus non-technical staff members where to look for this one individual task tequest. We already have an internal web page that everyone looks at to find information or to request a task. The other task request work fine, but this one doesn't on "some" systems. Here's what it does on the machines that don't work. When you open the task request the "send" function is not present. On the tool bar where the button that says "Cancel Assignment" now reads "Assign Task". If you click the assign task button the Send function comes back (with the correct email address), but one of the tabs are missing. What I am looking for is a clue to where to look to resolve this problem. If it can't be resolved, just say so. I will try to build another OFT and see if I experience the same problem. Thanks for keeping the communication channel open. Can't say they won't say the same thing. Thanks for keeping the communication channel open. Steve It's the least I can do for someone who is just down the street from me. Communitas, and all that. Strange, it doesn't seem to extend as far as Redmond, though. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

Dear steave :
try to uninstall the "kb 913807" patch from the malfunctioning stations and see if the problme solved or not.
