I have just updated my Access 2003 database to email a customer order
confirmation. This was done using a command button on the order form which, on click, opens a Send Object macro. The macro selects the order confirmation report and opens Outlook in Edit mode ready to send. This works perfectly on my computer, but not on the user's computer. It works fine on his first order, but the command button does nothing on the next one. Now, if he closes the application and re-opens it, the command works one time and that's it. The user has Windows 2000 and Outlook. I hope someone can help on this. I posted this yesterday under Access Database General Questions, but got no results. Thanks |

You expect results in one day on a volunteer newsgroup? I would say that your Access macro needs code to close Outlook after the item is sent. Not sure if it belongs there or in the code in the custom form that I presume it uses. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

I don't know, it works perfect on my computer. I wonder if it could somehow
be in the users Outlook settings, which ones?? Thanks for your response . Ron "Hollis Paul" wrote: In article , =?Utf-8?B?Um9uIFdlYXZlcg==?= wrote: The user has Windows 2000 and Outlook. Ron You say you updated your Access database. Was this a version upgrade, or did you just add some email addresses? I would expect that something has changed on the computers or the database, version wise, rather than just some Outlook settings. Remember, this is a programming Outlook newsgroup, not a general operations newsgroup. You should also tell us what version of Office (Outlook and Access) you are using, so we have an idea about where it works. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

My computer: Office XP, Outlook 2002, Access 2003
Users Computer: Access 2000 (don't have the other info yet) As for the database, I simply added an email text box and a command button with the on click event running a Send Object macro. Again, this works perfectly on my computer. When the user sends the first email, it works fine, but on the next one nothing happens til he closes Access and re-opens the application. Thanks for your help. I couldn't get a response from the Access "General Questions" group.
