Default Form Removed from Organization Library

I have a situation where a Custom Form was removed from the Organization
Library. Our server admin group is giving us a hard time about recovering or
restoring this form that was removed. As a result of the form being removed
we have messages based on that published form that cannot be viewed because
it relies on the form. When we open the messages we can see the basic header
information but the body is blank. Is there a way we can get the information
out of the message that would usually show up in the fields of the custom
form?

I understand that I should be able to open the message , goto Tools, Forms,
Design This Form. When I do this the area where the custom controls used to
be have a blank form. It appears to me that this form that was deleted was
serving as a form for the Public Folder and anything in that public folder
would be displayed in the format of this form. Could this be the case and if
so is there anyway of recreating the form to display the contents of the
messages.

If the form is no longer available in Org Forms, then each user will need to publish the form to their own Personal Forms library. Or, put all the messages into a public folder and publish the form to the public folder. You do have a backup copy saved as an .oft or .fdm file, right?

If not, look in the %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\FORMS folder (Windows XP or earlier) for a subfolder matching the published message class of the form. Make a copy of the ..tmp file that you find there, and change the extension from .tmp to ..oft. You can then run that form as you normally would, with the Tools | Forms | Choose Form command, and publish it.

No I do not have a copy of the form but have a ton of users in which I can
attempt to recover the .tmp.

Thank you I will give that a try.
