Default Forms and Public Folders

I've designed a new Outlook form for us to use as a Customer Site Report. I
saved it as a ".oft" file.

I would like to do the following:

1. Create a new public folder to keep all these in.
2. When I click on send, I want it to automatically go to the public folder,
and I want a distribution list of people to get a message saying "a new site
report has been created" and perhaps contain the link to the new message in
the public folder.

What do I need to do to accomplish this? Do I need to have each recipient
get the initial .oft file and publish it to their personal forms library?

Oft files are saved to the file system, so they cannot be put in a public
folder.

What you want to do is open that oft, which will create an item in the folder
of the same type in your default profile. That usually is the mailbox
containing the inbox in which you receive your mail. When the item opens, the
click Tools - Design this form. After the design environment opens, click
Tools - Forms - Publish As and publish it to the Organizational Forms
Library. You will have to generate a name for the form, so create one like
MyForm_Ver001. You want the version number in the name so that you never have
forms cache problems when you make changes. You will need permission to
publish to the Exchange Organizational Forms Library, so see your Exchange
Administrator before you attempt this. By using the OFL, others will be able
to automatically access the form when they require it.

The Exchange Admin will also give your user account permission to create a
public folder to hold your reports.

You set the to field into the data item before you go into design mode. Just
put in the email address of the public folder you create. You get that
address from the properties panel of the folder after it has been created.
